I have a lot of things to say about food. First of all, I like it. I'm pretty picky though, I don't like seafood, so that will limit my cooking experience. I like some fish, just not seafood. I don't like mushrooms, unless they are cut finely. Texture thing for me. I love the flavor they impart though, and Chanterelles are special.
Food... what is special about it? Well, probably everything.
I'm not a Vegan, or a Vegetarian. I like meat, I just want it cooked right. I taste wines, and that will be part of my blog. I'm an Omnivore. Like most humans. However I think that part of eating healthily is eating low on the food chain, for the most part. Eating more vegetables is definitely better for your health. I think though that we need some clear definitions, however... FRUIT is anything that produces a seed pod, as opposed to anything else we eat. Cucumbers, and tomatoes are FRUIT. So are melons, pumpkins, zuchinnis, strawberries, berries of all sorts, eggplants, etc. Lettuce, cabbage, carrots, onions, rutabagas, kohlrabi, potatoes are not FRUIT. What's the difference? Tell me. :)
I told you already, but I would like you to define it for yourself.
I'm not sure what I'll do with this blog. I love to make preserves, we do grow fruit here on the land, I raise chickens, so I have fresh eggs. We brew beer, we vint wine. I occasionally, with the help of the bread machine, make my own bread. So we'll see how this goes. :)
